Complex systems are all around us, from natural ecosystems to cities to climate. Essentially, these are systems composed of multiple entities (sometimes millions / billions) interacting in many different ways, along many different timescales, with multiple feedback loops. They’re called complex because they’re not easy to model mathematically or simulate with complete fidelity.
